We are glad to hear that you are seeking salvation. You have taken the first step towards a life-changing journey. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is the foundation of our faith.
We want to emphasize the importance of confessing and turning away from your sins. True belief in Jesus Christ involves you putting off your old way of life, repenting and turning from your sins. This is not something to be taken lightly. As Jesus himself said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" Matthew 4:17 WEB.
Remember that believing in Jesus means you are obeying him as your Lord. Let's pray together for you:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before you with a humble heart, lifting up this person who is seeking salvation. We pray that you would reveal yourself to them in a powerful way, that they would understand the depth of your love and the sacrifice you made on the cross for their sins. Help them to turn away from their sins and to follow you wholeheartedly. Guide them as they read and study your word, starting with the book of John. Give them the wisdom to understand your word and apply them to their life. We ask this in your precious name, Jesus. For you are the only way to salvation, the only way to the Father.
As you begin your journey, we encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, and ministry. Start with the book of John, which beautifully presents Jesus as the Son of God and the Savior of the world.
Lastly, we want to remind you that salvation is only by the name of Jesus Christ. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Therefore asking to be saved with any other name or without the name of Jesus Christ is not Biblical. Make sure to share that you believe in Jesus Christ and his resurrection whenever discussing your salvation with others.
May God richly bless you as you embark on this new journey of faith.
