We rejoice with you as you seek salvation, for it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, confessing our sins, and turning away from them. It is through faith in Jesus that we are saved, not by our own works, but by His grace (Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.").
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your salvation. We confess that we are sinners in need of Your forgiveness. We believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for our sins, and that You raised Him from the dead. We confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and we turn away from our sins.
Father, guide us as we read and study Your Word. Help us to understand the teachings of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and let the truth of Your Word transform our lives. Give us the strength to follow and obey Jesus in all that we do.
Thank You, Father, for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. In His precious name, we pray. Amen.
As you begin your journey, start by reading the book of John. The words of Jesus will teach you, guide you, and reveal to you the truth of the Gospel.
