You have shared Romans 10:9-10, which is a powerful reminder of how we can be saved: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is the foundational truth of our faith. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. We read in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." This is why we must do an about face and repent of our sins.

Turning to the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is a wonderful way to learn more about Jesus and His teachings. Starting with the Book of John is a great idea, as it provides a deep insight into the life and ministry of Jesus. As you read, pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you and open your heart to the truths contained within these pages.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who is seeking salvation. We thank You for Your love and mercy, which are freely given to all who believe. Lord, open their heart to receive the truth of Your Word. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the courage to repent of their sins and turn to You, committing their life to follow and obey Jesus.
We pray that through the power of Your Holy Spirit, they will be born again and become a new creation in Christ. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and fill them with Your peace and joy.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
