We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faithโbelieving in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we are saved from our sins and reconciled to God. We must not only believe but also confess our sins and turn away from them, committing to follow and obey Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your love and mercy. We lift up this person seeking salvation and ask that You open their heart to receive Your truth. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Guide them to turn away from their sins and commit to following Jesus.
Lord, as they begin to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, especially starting with the book of John, we pray that Your Holy Spirit will illuminate Your Word to them. Help them to understand the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Strengthen their faith and give them the courage to live for You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you embark on this journey, remember that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved."
Study the Scriptures diligently, and may the Lord bless you abundantly as you grow in your faith.
