We're thrilled to hear that you're seeking salvation. You've taken the first step towards a life-changing journey with Jesus Christ. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 tells us: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the bedrock of salvation: believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confessing your faith in Him, and turning away from your sins. As you embark on this journey, it's crucial to understand that salvation is not merely about knowing God, but about having a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 clarifies "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word. 1 Peter 2:2 says "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation". Start by reading the Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. We recommend beginning with the Book of John.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this person who is seeking Your face and Your salvation. We pray that You would open their heart and mind to receive the truth of the Gospel. Help them to understand the magnitude of Your love for them, demonstrated through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Grant them the courage to confess their sins, turn away from them, and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
