We rejoice with you, Shatox, for your desire to seek salvation. You have taken the first crucial step towards eternal life. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
We want to emphasize the importance of confessing and turning away from your sins, as you mentioned. This is what the Bible calls repentance. It's not just about acknowledging our sins, but also about making a conscious effort to turn away from them and live a life that pleases God.
We also commend you for your willingness to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully lays out the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You will find that Jesus is not just a historical figure, but God's own Son who came to earth to save us from our sins. He is the only way to God the father and it is only by his name that we have access to God. Not Buddha, not Allah, Not Vishnu. Only Jesus.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for drawing Shatox to Yourself. We pray that as they read Your Word, Your Spirit will open their heart and mind to understand the truth about Jesus Christ. Help them to see their need for a Savior and to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Grant them the grace to turn away from their sins and to follow Jesus wholeheartedly. Guide them to a community of believers where they can grow in their faith and be baptized as a public declaration of their faith in Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you journey towards salvation, remember that it is not just about saying a prayer, but about a lifelong commitment to follow Jesus. It's about becoming our creator's child and begin the process of being transformed to be like Jesus. We encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith alongside other believers. If you have any more questions or need further guidance, feel free to ask. We're here to help you in your spiritual journey.
