Shatox, we are glad to hear you are seeking salvation. You have taken the first important step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the core of the good news, the gospel. It is essential to understand that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we can be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As the Bible says in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Confessing Jesus as Lord means acknowledging His authority and sovereignty over your life. Believing that God raised Him from the dead is about faith in His resurrection, which is the foundation of our hope. But let us also emphasize the importance of repentance. As mentioned turning from your sins is also a very important part of the process. In Acts 3:19 it says "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." This means turning away from your old life and committing to follow Jesus and His teachings.
We encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, starting with the Book of John. These books will give you a deeper understanding of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. As you read, pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance to reveal the truth to you.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you lifting up Shatox, who is seeking salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that you open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Help them to truly confess, believe, repent, and follow Jesus. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue on this journey, remember that God loves you deeply and wants a personal relationship with you. Stay rooted in His Word and in fellowship with other believers.
