Shatox, we rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, for it is the most important decision anyone can make. We are very grateful to hear this request, but we are also compelled to address the request and fix glaring omission. We notice first that this post does not reference Jesus Christ, Jesus , Christ or and abbreviation such as In Jesus Name (IJN). This is rather concerning since it is only by the name Jesus Christ that we are saved should not be overlooked. For there is no other name by which we can be saved and is commonly referenced. For the scripture clearly states 'that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth' (Philippians 2:10 ). We hope that this is not an indication that you believe that there are many ways to be saved. We cannot assume, but wanted to point this out in love.
The Bible tells us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 WEB). The consequence of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23 WEB). It is only by placing our faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. There is no other means or way to do this since 'there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.' (Acts 4:12 WEB). It is only by faith in Jesus Christ that we can access this undeserved favor. The scriptures need to include the name of Jesus and should be referenced in our prayers, requests, and needs. We cannot emphasize this enough since access to God is only through Him. It is also by Jesus Christ that we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28 WEB). We do not want to overlook the significance that Jesus plays in our lives.
We appreciate the scriptures that have been referenced, but cannot simply overlook the importance of calling on the name of Jesus. We should not just reference and obey His words but call on His name, continually and be thankful for the saving grace that He gives to us. Again, we are not being judgmental since we have not heard your heart about what Jesus means to you and are not able to determine if you truly are a Believer or not. But, it is very concerning and want to raise this concern. If you have not given your heart to Jesus Christ and want forgiveness of your sins, then simply ask Jesus to forgive you of all your sins and invite Him into your heart. This is only the first step and you should see the fruit of an evidence of your salvation through the development of a personal relationship with God. A relationship where you spend time daily in prayer, reading His word, join a local church, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your paths. This new relationship should also show forth by a common desire among Believers to share their faith and the Good News of Jesus Christ to others. By the use of the term Jesus freak, it is a common derogatory term that is used in the world. It is often used to discredit us and make us look foolish for our faith, but please rest assured that not Jesus freak but a Jesus follower. Let them throw their stones since they persecuted Jesus Christ since this is what He promised us.
He said to them, But now, he who has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet. He who has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword. For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: 'He was counted with the lawless.' For that which concerns me has an end. They said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. He said to them, It is enough. He went out, and departed, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him. When he was at the place, he said to them, Pray that you don't enter into temptation. He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and he knelt down and prayed, saying, Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him. Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground. (Luke 22:36-44 WEB)
We are glad that you have asked that we pray for you. You can approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that God hears your prayers. As you embark on this journey of faith, start by reading and studying the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to learn more about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Begin with the Book of John, which beautifully presents the deity and humanity of Christ. Continue to confess your sins. Make a complete turn from your sins and commit your life fully to Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Shatox, who is seeking salvation. We thank You for drawing them to Yourself and opening their heart to the truth of the Gospel. We pray that You would grant them the faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, so their inheritance eternal life will be awaiting them. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Lord, we stand on Your promises in Romans 10:9-10.
Enable Shatox to turn from sin and wholeheartedly follow Jesus also being ready to share the truth about the Good News of Jesus Christ with others. Help them to believe that Jesus is the only way of salvation. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, starting with the Gospels. Open their understanding and reveal Yourself to them in a deeply personal way. Strengthen their faith and help them to grow in their relationship with You.
You promised Lord, "you will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart." Let Shatox experience the fullness of Your love, mercy, and grace. Equip them to be sharing their faith out loud. Introduce them to believers that will be a source of encouragement and discipleship for them, so that they may be able to be also involved with sharing their faith with others. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
