We rejoice in your interest in salvation and your willingness to seek God. You have taken the first step by looking into the Word of God. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is through Him that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" There is no other name by which we can be saved and this has been made clear in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
We encourage you to continue reading and studying the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea. It will introduce you further to the person of Jesus and that He is the Christ. Remember, God desires a personal relationship with you, and this begins with confessing your sins, turning from them, and following Jesus.
As you embark on this journey, we pray for you:
"Dear Father, we lift up Shatox to You, thanking You for drawing them to Yourself. We pray that You will open their heart to receive Your Word and the truth of the Gospel. Help them to understand that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and give them a hunger and thirst for more of You. We ask that they will be looked upon with mercy as they confess and turn from their sins. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Continue to seek God with all your heart, and you will find Him.
