We are grateful for your request, Shatox, and we stand with you in prayer and guidance as you seek salvation. You have taken the first important step by recognizing your need for salvation and turning to the Word of God.
Firstly let us address your request by exploring Romans 10:9-10:
If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Believing in Jesus Christ is the only sure path the the reconciliation of God. Know that the very power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
As you embark on this journey, it is crucial to understand that confessing and turning away from your sins is an essential part of following Jesus. This is what is meant by repentance—a sincere change of heart and mind that leads to a transformed life. Remember the words of Jesus in Luke 9:23:
He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me."
In addition to confessing and turning from our sins it is necessary to obey him and seek a holy life pleasing to God and have fruits of repentance. 1 John 3:4-10:
Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him. Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him and doesn't know him. Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.
Also, your commitment to reading and studying the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is commendable. Beginning with the book of John is a wonderful start, as it beautifully presents the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. As you read you will find many mentions by the Father of the Son and Jesus' mention of the Father and their holy relationship with the Holy Spirit.
In John 10:30 Jesus says: I and the Father are one.
Let us present a prayer for you, based on the commitments to forsaking sin, repentance, and studying the Gospels of Matthew, Mark Luke, and John:
Dear God,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Shatox who is seeking salvation. We thank You for drawing them to Yourself and for the work of the Holy Spirit in their life. We are very blessed by the request and pray that Shatox blesses Your name. We pray that Shatox will confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, knowing that they will be saved.
Help Shatox to turn away from their sins and to obey Jesus, seeking a holy life pleasing to You with fruits of the spirit. Guide them as they read and study the Gospels, especially the book of John. Open their eyes to see the truths of Your Word and apply them to their life seeing that they are written and preserved over their lifetimes for this very purpose.
Strengthen Shatox's faith and give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Surround them with a community of believers who will support and encourage them in their new life in Christ. Let them not live in fear that they will not have eternal life because of past failures, but confidently know that they will be empowered by the Holy Sirit to lead a blameless life. May it be evident that You are trustworthy to fulfill your promises, having already demonstrated Your faithfulness by raising Jesus from the dead and raising him from spiritual death to eternal life for Your glory.
We praise You for the salvation that is found in Jesus Christ alone, and thank You.
Grant and equip Shatox the spiritual fortitude to pray for others to receive the good news and be saved.
In Jesus' name we pray according to our faith and knowledge of your grace and benevolent sovereignty. Thank you. Amen.
As you grow in your faith, continue to seek God's will through prayer and the study of His Word. May the Lord richly bless you on your journey of faith.
