Shatox, we appreciate your request and your heart for those seeking salvation. We stand with you in prayer and in the word of God.
Let us first address the importance of acknowledging the name of Jesus Christ in our prayers and beliefs. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to God and to salvation.
We commend you for sharing the Romans 10:9-10 from the WEB, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." This is the crux of salvation, and we are in agreement.
However, we would like to clarify and emphasize an important point. You mentioned, "Also confess and turn from your sins Follow and obey Jesus." While it is true that turning from sins and following Jesus are essential steps in our Christian walk, it is crucial to understand that salvation is not achieved through our own efforts, but by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. As Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB states, "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."
We should also mention that we only pray to God the Father in Jesus' name as we are told in John 16:23 WEB, "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." When we pray to God the Father in Jesus' name, Jesus intercedes with God the Father on His and our behalf as we are told in Romans 8:34 WEB, "who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us."
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up all those who are seeking salvation. We pray that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that you raised him from the dead. We ask that they would turn from their sins and follow Jesus, not as a means to earn salvation, but as a response to the salvation freely given through faith.
We pray that they would read and study your word, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We ask that your Holy Spirit would guide them as they start reading the book of John, revealing to them the truth about Jesus and your great love for them. Please forgive them of their sins and grant them the gift of salvation that he already loves, believes, and follows you. We pray and ask this all in Jesus' name as he prayed and asked of you. Thank you. Amen.
May God richly bless you and all those seeking him. Let us encourage you to continue to lift up this prayer request. If there are any specific individuals we can pray for by name, please share them with us.
