Shatox, we appreciate your request and your heartfelt desire for salvation. We stand with you in faith to help council, pray, and share the gospel with you. It is wonderful that you have included Romans 10:9-10 in your request, for it clearly outlines the path to salvation. As you have shared, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the core of the gospel message. It is through faith in Jesus Christ, believing in his death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved. This faith is not just an intellectual assent, but a deep conviction that leads to a changed life. As you mentioned, "confess and turn from your sins," which is what repentance is all about. It is a turning away from our old ways and a turning towards God, committing to follow and obey Jesus.
We encourage you to spend time in the Gospel accounts as you mentioned, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This is where you will learn more about Jesus, his life, teachings, and the salvation he offers.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Shatox and any others who are seeking salvation. We pray that you would open their hearts and minds to the truth of the gospel. Help them to understand that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.
We pray that they would truly believe in their hearts that Jesus is Lord and that you raised him from the dead. We pray that this belief would lead to justification and salvation. We pray that they would confess with their mouths, "Jesus is Lord," and be saved. Romans 10:9-10.
We also pray that they would turn from their sins and commit to following Jesus, obeying his commands and living for him. We pray that they would be transformed by the renewing of their minds, no longer conforming to the pattern of this world. Romans 12:2.
We thank you, Father, for your love and mercy. We thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for our sins. We thank you for the gift of salvation. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Shatox, continue to read and study the Bible. Consider also memorizing scriptures such as Romans 10:9-10 and other scriptures that you will find in the Gospel accounts. Also read Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:13, and Ephesians 2:8-9 to further your understanding of the basic salvation message. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Therefore, always pray and ask in the name of Jesus Christ or Jesus or Christ or a similar abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name).
As you grow in your faith, consider finding a local church where you can fellowship with other believers, worship God, and learn more about living a Christian life. We are here to support you in any way we can.
