As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 indeed proclaims, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is the foundation of our faith—believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and confessing Him as Lord and Savior.
We also want to emphasize the importance of turning away from sins, as you mentioned. Acts 3:19 tells us, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out." This is a crucial step in our journey with Christ.
You're encouraged to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the divine Son of God.

Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved."
