Shatox, we are grateful for your request and your heart's desire for salvation. You have shared a crucial truth from Romans 10:9-10, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is indeed the path to salvation, and we rejoice in your interest in following Jesus Christ.
We encourage you to take these words to heart, confess your sins, and turn away from them. As Acts 3:19 tells us, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." This confession and repentance is the first step in a lifelong journey of following and obeying Jesus.
We also commend you for your intention to read and study the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it vividly presents Jesus's deity and ministry. As Jesus Himself said, "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me" (John 5:39).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with Shatox, who is seeking salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that You would open their heart and mind to fully understand and believe the Gospel. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the strength to turn away from their sins and to follow Jesus obediently.
Guide Shatox as they read and study Your Word. Reveal Your truth to them, and help them to grow in their faith and relationship with You. We ask all these things in Jesus's precious name. Amen.
Shatox, remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Keep your focus on Jesus, and He will guide your path.
