We appreciate your heartfelt desire for salvation and your commitment to studying God's Word. You have shared a powerful truth from Romans 10:9-10, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
We commend you for understanding the importance of confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection. However, we must also emphasize the importance of turning from our sins, as you mentioned. This is known as repentance, and it is a crucial step in our journey towards salvation. As it is written in Acts 3:19 (WEB), "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
We encourage you to continue reading and studying the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Son of God and the path to eternal life. Remember, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6, WEB).
Know that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again to give us eternal life. We confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that You raised Him from the dead. We ask for forgiveness for our sins and the strength to turn away from them. Help Shatox as they continue to seek You and study Your Word. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to walk in faith, and may God bless you on your journey towards a deeper understanding of His love and salvation.
