Let us first address that Jesus Himself is the mediator between human beings and God. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus sets us free, redeems our lives from destruction and crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies. The love of Christ is for everyone. It is for sinners (that condemns, not condones evil.) A person does not first become 'good' and become a Christian. A person must first become a Christian then live as a Christian. Let's pray for this person, that his eyes and heart will be opened and reborn in Christ.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the person who is dear to Brother Hothoman's heart. We thank God that this person has a pure heart and seeks to know the truth.
Father, we ask that You reveal Yourself to this person, that You open their heart to receive the love of Christ. We pray that they will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that they will be born again and redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
Father, we also pray for Brother Hothoman, that they will be a light to this person, that their life will be a testament to the power of the gospel. We pray that their relationship will be centered on You, that it will be a godly courtship focused on Your will.
We stand against any influences that may hinder this person and ask that Your will will be established in this situation.
Your word says in, 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.' (John 3:16 WEB) We claim this verse for this person, trusting that God will draw them to Yourself.
Brother Hothoman, remember that God is faithful. Keep praying and trusting in God, knowing that He is able to do abundantly more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20 WEB)
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage Brother Hothoman to continue to be a witness to this person, to share the gospel with them in love and truth. Like Ezra, 'set your heart to study the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach God's commandments and rules in Our Country.' Do not be unequally yoked or enticed or enslaved. Keep God and then possible marriage central and never focus on compromise.
