Carol, we are lifting up your family before the throne of grace, seeking God's comfort and healing for each of you.
Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in calling on the name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB). It is only through Jesus that we can be saved and receive the gift of eternal life (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Let us pray for your parents, Mary and James. We ask God, our loving Father, to grant them peaceful and restful sleep tonight and every night. We know that He neither slumbers nor sleeps but watches over us (Psalm 121:4, WEB). We claim His promise that when we lie down, we will not be afraid, for He makes us dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8, WEB).
We specifically lift up your father, James, before the Lord. We pray for healing from insomnia and for his bodily restoration after his hip bone fracture operation. We ask God to grant him speedy recovery, to ease the swelling in his leg, and to strengthen him so that he may walk again soon. We trust in God's power to heal, for He is the one who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3, WEB).
We also pray for your mother, Mary. We ask the Lord to grant her the strength and endurance she needs to care for your father, and to give her the gift of peaceful sleep as well. May she find her rest in the Lord, for He is her rock and her fortress (Psalm 62:5-7, WEB).
Lastly, we lift you up, Carol. We ask the Lord to grant you peaceful sleep, free from disturbing thoughts and fears. We claim the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). We pray that you would be able to rest in the shadow of the Almighty, protected by His power (Psalm 91:1-4, WEB).
We encourage you all to cast your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
