For My Teenage Son Who Is Questioning God's Presence

My son is almost 16. Till recently, he has been a model child - religious, respectful, kind, considerate, popular etc. As of the last few months however, he has started to seriously question God's presence, the value of morales, homosexuality etc. I am deeply saddened at the suddent turnaround in attitude. We recently changed his school (he is what the experts call "gifted"). I do not like this term because I think God made us all equal and gifted but for purposes of this request, I write it so you know why we changed his school). He is quite bright and asked us to find him a more challenging program. He is now surrounded by like minded kids but many of them say they are atheists. I do not know if this is what higher education does to someone but it disturbs me greatly. I ask that you pray for him to find God and for God to not let go of him. I ask that you pray in earnest with me that he is able to stand up to all and everyone who questions his faith. Again, this was a kid who loved God and could defend him vehemently so I do not understand the mental turnaround. I know everything happens for a reason and I am praying that this too shall pass and it is for a reason. Please Please pray with me for my son - his name is Khalil.

Father please help this mom to glorify you in the raising of her son. Help her to recognize any mistakes made perhaps in moving to a new school. Show her any other options like homeschooling or a christian school. Give her the courage and faith to obey You over any worldly counsel . Protect her son and draw him back to a solid foundation in You. Help her also to find the resources to answer her sons doubts and to arm him with knowledge of Your awesomeness and existence. I know it is the Holy Spirit that draws us and faith that sustains us, but having been raised in Sunday School myself I know how one can go to church all their lives without gaining a deep solid foundation in the Word or being equipped to answer the naysayers!

It seems he has opened the door for the enemy to work within his pride to be transformed to this world, instead of transforming his mind for God. Many wordly intelligent people find it necessary to consider their intelligence as absolute, thus they follow the whims and counsel of the world, instead of humbling themselves before the Creator who, by the way, chooses that which is considered weak, and simple by wordly standards, to counsel and teach the world His standards. I'm sorry he is going through this, though at his age it is his decision, he is accountable. I have 3 teenage sons and want to protect them from that which is evil all the time, but at the age of accountability, their walk is their walk. I know you love your son and I will pray satan's blinders will fall off his eyes and heart by the power of almighty God. God blessed your son to use his intelligence for His purposes.
