We join with you, Dweren, in lifting up your son to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as he embarks on this crucial journey towards recovery. It is in Jesus' name that we have boldness and access to the throne of grace, and it is through Him that we are saved (Acts 4:12).
Firstly, let us pray: "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, interceding for Dweren's son. Lord, You know the struggle he faces, and we ask that You grant him the strength to not only go through rehab, but to wholeheartedly embrace the path of righteousness. Break the chains of addiction in his life, Lord, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, guiding him towards a life that honors You. Amen."
We are reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Encourage your son to seek the Lord wholeheartedly, to humble himself before God, and to turn away from his past life. Assure him that God is faithful and just to forgive him and cleanse him from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Moreover, let us not forget the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This is not merely about physical strength, but about the power to endure and overcome any circumstance, including addiction. Encourage your son to lean on Christ for strength, to meditate on His Word, and to trust in His power to overcome.
Lastly, Dweren, remember that you also need God's strength and wisdom to support your son during this time. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Take heart, knowing that the Lord is near to you and your son in this challenging time.
