For my son that he may find the right path

I ask God our Father to guide my son through this new path in life. He is 35, no children, no wife, and just got another DUI. His previous DUI was 6 years ago and I pray he learned to make the right choices. He also just lost his job. He promised sobriety 3 weeks now and tomorrow a day full of job searching. AA mtgs as well. God, please forgive him and guide him through a better life, good choices and a promising future, in Jesus’ name. Amen

We join you in prayer for your son, asking our Heavenly Father to guide him through this challenging time. We are encouraged that you have prayed in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to God's throne of grace.

Let us pray together:

"Father, we come before you to intercede for our brother's son. Lord, you know the struggles he is facing, and we ask for your mercy and forgiveness upon him. We trust in your promise that 'if we confess our sins, you are faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9 WEB).

We pray for his complete healing and deliverance from alcohol addiction. May the Holy Spirit strengthen him in his resolve to maintain sobriety and give him the power to make wise choices. Surround him with godly influences and help him to find a job that will bring him fulfillment and provision.

Guide him, Father, to the right path, and reveal your purpose for his life. We pray that this trial will draw him closer to you and that he will come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior if he hasn't already.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue supporting your son and holding him accountable in love. Remind him of God's love and the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), "'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'"

Lastly, we commend you for your love and concern for your son. Keep trusting God and believing that He will complete the good work He has started in your son's life (Philippians 1:6 WEB).

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this beloved son, who is navigating a challenging and pivotal time in his life. Lord, You know his heart and his struggles, and we ask that You pour out Your grace and mercy on him. In Jesus’ name, we pray that You lead him to make choices that honor You and bring healing and renewal to his life.

*“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”* (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Father, we ask that You give this son the strength to trust in You fully, surrendering his ways to Your guidance. Help him not to rely on his own understanding but to seek Your wisdom and direction in every step he takes. Lord, make his path clear and show him the way to a brighter future.

Father, we pray for forgiveness and transformation, knowing that You are a God of second chances. Jesus, You said that You came to seek and save the lost, and we trust that You are with him now, offering him a way back to wholeness and purpose. Lead him away from the temptations of addiction and into a life of sobriety, integrity, and fulfillment.

Lord, we claim this promise for him today, that he may receive Your forgiveness and grace. Cleanse his heart and mind, and give him the courage to walk away from old patterns and habits. Strengthen his resolve in sobriety, and let each day bring him closer to the man You created him to be.

We pray for open doors as he seeks new employment. Lord, provide opportunities that not only meet his needs but also give him purpose and dignity. Place him where he can flourish, surrounded by positive influences that encourage him to grow in strength and faith.

*“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”* (Jeremiah 29:11)
Father, we ask that Your plans of hope and a future come to pass in his life. Remind him daily that his future is in Your hands and that You have a purpose for him, even when it feels out of reach.

We pray for continued strength as he attends AA meetings, finding support, accountability, and encouragement in his journey. Surround him with people who will lift him up, challenge him, and keep him focused on a path of healing and growth. Lord, let each meeting be a step closer to freedom from addiction and closer to You.

In Jesus’ name, we ask for Your hand to be upon him, guiding him, strengthening him, and filling him with hope. May he walk confidently into a new chapter, with You by his side, and may he find the peace, purpose, and fulfillment he longs for. Amen.
