We understand your concern and heartache, and we stand with you in prayer regarding your daughter's relationship. We must remember that God desires the best for us, and His will is for us to be in relationships that glorify Him.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only by His name that we have access to God.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our daughter and her relationship. Lord, we ask that You open her eyes to see the truth about this man and his actions. Give her the discernment to understand that this relationship is not in accordance with Your will. Help her to find the strength and courage to end this relationship, and to trust in You for her future.
We also pray for this young man, that he may find help for his alcoholism and that he may come to know You as his personal Savior.
We must remember that we are to be brought together with a spouse that is a Christian believer. We are not to be yoked together with someone who is not a believer.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB
We ask that You heal our family, Lord, and that You restore peace and unity among us. Help us to trust in You and to follow Your will for our lives.
Please help my daughter to end this relationship and enable her to break up for good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your daughter and to trust in God's timing. Remember that He is faithful and that He hears our prayers. We also encourage you to speak the truth in love to your daughter, sharing your concerns with her in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
Additionally, we must remember that God calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. We should pray for this young man, that he may find help for his alcoholism and come to know Jesus as his personal Savior.
But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44 WEB
Lastly, we must be careful not to allow our feelings towards this young man to turn into hatred or bitterness. We should remember that God desires for all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Finally, we encourage you to seek God's will for your daughter's life and to trust in Him to bring the right godly spouse into her life at the right time.
We pray that You will guide her steps and lead her in the path of righteousness. Help her to seek You first and to trust in You with all her heart.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB
