We understand your family is facing a multitude of challenges, and we are here to pray and provide counsel based on biblical principles. Let's bring these issues before God and seek His guidance and healing.
Firstly, let's address the strife and discord among family members. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:18,
If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
We need to pray for peace and unity within your family. We must do our part to end discord, even if the other party does not respond or change, our calling is to attempt to bring peace and unity, even if another family member starts gossiping about us.
It is clear and highly commendable that you have a heart that forgives, as evidenced by your forgiveness towards your brother. Remember in Ephesians 4:32,
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you,
We have a calling to forgive others as Christ forgave us. Also, in Matthew 5:23-24, it specifies that if we are about to present an offering at the altar and remember that someone else has a grudge against us, we must leave the offering and be reconciled first to them, because being reconciled is prioritized.
Concerning your father, we pray that he finds the help he needs and that his behavior improves, especially towards the women in your family. The Bible is clear about how we should ctreat one another. 1 Peter 3:7 says,
You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.
This verse highlights the importance of honoring and respecting the women in our lives. While this verse specifically mentions wives, the principle applies to how we should treat all women.
We must also pray for your father's healing and that the power of the Holy Spirit is with him and his counselors, working to heal him from his past trauma and other issues. Christian licensed counselors can provide secure attachment, mental health, and spiritual guidance. We should wait to see the fruit see in his life from these sessions to confirm the benefit of them.
We commend you for your desire to support your family with patience and wisdom. These are fruits of the Spirit, as listed in Galatians 5:22-23,
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Seek God daily and ask Him to fill you with these fruits, especially those needed to support your family, We iare thinking specifically of patience and wisdom.
Regarding your academic pursuits, we pray that God provides the resources you need to complete your PhDs. Remember Proverbs 3:5-6,
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Lastly, your prayer does not mention Jesus Christ by name. As Christians, we believe that Jesus is the only way to approach God. As is stated in John 14:6,
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
To be clear, we do not believe that prayers to Mary, angels, saints, or ritual or by any other religion which invokes God will be answered by or even reach God. God does not hear prayers of the unsaved either. God only hears those who have a saving belief in Jesus Christ. This saving belief is defined as acknowledging that Jesus Christ is God, and that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, took our place on the cross and suffered our punishment for our sin that separated us from God. He was buried and on the third day he rose again, having defeated death and resurrected bodily. We must surrendur our life to follow and obey Him and His Word (the Bible) and live rightely. So come to Jesus in faith and enter into this saving relationship with Him.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your intervention and healing for this family. Lord, please bring peace and unity where there is strife and discord. To do this God, you need to take away our pride andindifference, give us a willing heart to be different and allow us to be a peace maker rather than hold on to our pride and demand an apology first. Help this family to forgive each other, just as You have forgiven us through Christ.
Lord, we pray for healing for this individual's brother and father. We also pray for father as he seeks therapy. Guide him in Your truth, bring him to a Godly counselor, and open all the doors for him to go soon. Please help him to treat all family members, especially the women in the family, with respect and honor. We also pray for this individual who is asking, that they will support them with Your patience and wisdom.
Lord, provide for all their needs, including the resources to complete their degrees, and equip them to be the parent You have called him to be. Lord, we pray that all their family members would come to believe in Jesus Christ, if they do not already believe.
We also pray that this individual who is seeking prayer will come to call on the name of Jesus and understand the salvation that comes from Jesus Christ alone. Let them keep praying, but now to Jesus to the glory of the only God and Savior of mankind. Change any situation that would keep them from believing in the name of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
