We are truly grateful for your heartfelt request for your dad's mental health and your family's well-being. We will lift up our voices in prayer together.
James 1:5 says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." Before beginning, it is essential to prayer for the assistance of the Holy Spirit, asking God to provide guidance and wisdom for your dad's therapist. + It is crucial to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is by His name that we are saved
Let us pray.
Almighty God, we come before You in Jesus Christ's name, lifting up our brother who is seeking mental health support. Lord, You know his heart and his struggles. We pray that You will guide him to a therapist who will see through his defenses and provide the help he truly needs. Give the welfare workers discernment and wisdom to understand the complexities of his situation and to provide effective care.
Lord, we also pray for the conversation that is planned for this afternoon. May it be productive and healing, not an opportunity for blame or attack, but rather a step towards reconciliation and understanding in Jesus Christ. As the Word reminds us in Ephesians 4.29 " Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."
Father, we ask that You help him to accept the therapy positively, not projecting his issues onto others, but embracing the support offered for his greater good. We trust that with Your intervention, he will no longer be suicidal and will be able to build stronger, healthier relationships with his family, founded upon mutual trust and love. As You have promised in Romans 8:28 " We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" We believe that this too will work out well for your dad.
We also pray for you and your siblings as your dad's past behavior may have caused hurt, fear, anxiety, or otherwise. Praying for restoration, faith, and love as directed by us all, remembering Romans 12:19 " Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath [of God]: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord." for we would rather see Christ's healing than ours. Do not forget to pray for your dad's salvation, if not already justified.
We rebuke any spirit of accusation, blame, or bitterness that may try to infiltrate this situation and above all, encourage your dad in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, Master, and Creator.
