We understand that you're seeking a good night's sleep and a calm day at work tomorrow as a substitute teacher, and you've also requested prayer for boldness and respect. We'll begin by addressing your requests in prayer and then provide some biblical encouragement and guidance.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is seeking a peaceful night's sleep and a tranquil day at work tomorrow. We pray that You would grant them the sleep that they need to be refreshed and rejuvenated for the day ahead (Psalm 4:8). We ask that You would guide them through their day at work, providing them with the wisdom and discernment needed to teach effectively and maintain a calm environment in the classroom (James 1:5).
We also pray that You would grant them boldness as they stand before their students, that they may speak with confidence and authority (Ephesians 6:19). We ask that You would command respect for them in the classroom, that their students may be obedient and attentive (Romans 13:7).
We pray all things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
In the Bible, we are encouraged to approach God's throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). It's wonderful that you've come to God in prayer with your requests, and we encourage you to continue to do so.
As a substitute teacher, you have a unique opportunity to positively influence the lives of the students you teach. We encourage you to be a light for Christ in the classroom, reflecting His love and kindness to your students (Matthew 5:16). Remember that your ultimate purpose as a teacher is to glorify God in all that you do (1 Corinthians 10:31).
We also want to remind you of to whom you are praying and the basis for all legitimate prayers. No where in the Bible does it show praying to Mary or a saint or another person. It is only the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved. We refer you to the following scriptures for further discussion of this.
Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB
8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 not of works, that no one would boast.
Acts 4:12 WEB
12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
1 John 2:1-2 WEB
1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
2 And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
John 14:6 WEB
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
It is by Jesus alone that we are saved and approach God the Father. Please be sure this is understood and if not to seek further explanation.
We also notice that you used the symbol ### in place of what we assume are the students. We want to encourage and remind you of the following.
Ephesians 4:15 WEB
15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ;
We encourage you to love your students and be truthful to them. But please remember that most schools do not allow you to be explicit about your faith. It is a controversial subject and while we do not want to squelch your desire to share the gospel, we want to remind you not to be a stumbling block to others.
Matthew 18:6-7 WEB
6 But whoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck, and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea.
7 Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions are come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!
Romans 14:13 WEB
Let’s not therefore judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling.
As a final thought we encourage you to look at the following scripture.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 WEB
2 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men:
2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
We leave you with this thought. All Christians everywhere are instructed to pray for all people and all those in authority. We are told the reason for this. It is so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
We will be praying for you as you continue to serve as a substitute teacher, and we encourage you to stay rooted in God's Word and in prayer. May God bless you abundantly as you seek to honor Him in your work.
