We understand that you're seeking a breakthrough in your priestly vocation and feeling rejected, and you're also asking for God's favor and vindication from habitual sins. Firstly, we want to remind you that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God and be saved. As scripture tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.
We must also address that the concept of "mortal" and "venial" sins is not biblical. In the Bible, sin is sin, and all sin separates us from God. However, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB.
Now, let's pray for your situation:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved one who feels stagnated and rejected in their priestly vocation. We pray that you would break the chains that bind them, and release them into the fullness of your calling. Lord, if it is your will, open the doors that no man can shut, and give them favor in your sight and in the sight of those around them.
We also pray that you would bring conviction and repentance for any habitual sins, Lord. Help them to turn from their wicked ways, so that you can forgive and heal them. We know that you desire for all to come to repentance. We pray that they do not grow weary in doing what is right, Lord. Father, we pray that they will be made new in the attitude of their minds; and put on the new self, in the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24 WEB
Father, vindicate them and help them to live a life that is pleasing to you. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to press on towards the goal to which God has called you. Do not be discouraged by the trials of today, but keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:2 WEB. We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB.
