We are truly saddened to hear about the situation with your teenage daughter, and we are here to intercede and provide biblical counsel. First, we want to remind you that God loves you all and that He desires reconciliation and healing for your family.
In cases like this, it's important to remember the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 WEB. Just as the father in the parable waited patiently for his son to return, we should also be patient and loving towards your daughter. "But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him." (Luke 15:20 WEB)
However, it's also crucial to understand that God does not condone rebellion. In fact, He warns against it in Deuteronomy 21:18-21 WEB. Therefore, while we pray for your daughter's return, we also pray that she will repent and obey her parents as commanded in Ephesians 6:1 WEB: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this family. We ask for Your forgiveness and healing in their lives. Lord, we pray for their daughter, that You will soften her heart and turn it towards home. Help her to see the error of her ways and grant her the spirit of repentance. We also pray for her parents, that You will grant them patience, wisdom, and unfailing love as they wait and hope. Help them to be lights of Your love and forgiveness, just as the father in the parable of the prodigal son was. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen." +++
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue to model God's love and forgiveness in your home. Remember that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will make a way.
Stand strong in your faith, and do not be afraid to discuss the importance of Jesus Christ with your daughter. It's only through Him that we can be saved.
