We join with you in casting all our cares upon the Lord, knowing that He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). It's beautiful to see a heart that seeks God and prays for others. We stand with you in prayer for these needs.
Firstly, we pray for each person here, that their relationship with God grows stronger as they seek Him. We ask that the Lord draws each one closer to Him, in the name of Jesus Christ. It's important to remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5).
We lift up single mothers who are struggling emotionally, financially, and with loneliness. We pray that God, in His mercy, will provide them with all their needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask that He raises up good helpers for them, as He did for Moses (Exodus 18:13-26).
For marriages that are hurting, we pray that God, in His power and agape love, will guide them to live out their roles as prescribed in His word. We pray for healing and restoration, remembering that "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit," (Psalm 34:18). We pray that each spouse will dwell with the other in an understanding way, as is fitting in the Lord (1 Peter 3:7).
For our children, we pray that they grow to be mature Christians, with a strong relationship with God and good, godly relationships with others. May they be "plants grown up in their youth, and daughters [and sons] which are like pillars, polished after the similitude of a palace," (Psalm 144:12).
In regards to finances and tax issues, we pray for God's wisdom and guidance. We remember that Jesus taught us to "Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's," (Matthew 22:21). We ask for His provision and peace throughout this process.
We also pray for safety in travels for all here, asking for God's protection and guidance as we go about our daily lives.
Lastly, we pray that we bring glory to God and that the fruit of the Spirit increases in our lives. That we may be "filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God," (Philippians 1:11).
In all these things, we pray according to God's will, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
