For a better relationship with my stepmom

My stepmom seems to have jealousy issues whenever my dad helps me with something (I’m 36 with health issues). She interferes often and tries to get him to stop helping me. She’s also nasty to me and tells me I’ma burden to him. She’s not a Christian but he is. I am requesting prayer for a better relationship with her and for her to come to Christ. I miss my mom (she died when I was 15), and I know my stepmom isn’t going to be my mom, but I am still hopeful that we can come to better terms.

We understand your concern and we are here to support you in prayer and to provide biblical guidance. Firstly, we commend you for honoring your father and desiring a better relationship with your stepmother. It's important to remember that God calls us to love and respect all people, including our family members, even when they may not reciprocate our feelings.

We must also be mindful of the biblical principles regarding relationships and marriage. Since your father is a Christian, it's important for him to be equally yoked with a believer. We'll pray for your stepmother to come to know Christ, as this could significantly improve your relationship with her.

The Bible tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, so we can be children of our Father in heaven.

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Let's pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Huyrael and their family. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. Please soften their stepmother's heart towards Huyrael and bring her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Help Huyrael to forgive her stepmother for any hurtful words or actions, and to love her as You love us.

Lord, we also pray for Huyrael's health and strength. We ask that You would provide for their needs and give them the grace to endure any trials they may face.

Father, we pray for their father, that You would give him the wisdom to navigate this situation and to honor You in all his actions. We pray that he would be a godly example to his family and that You would use him to bring his wife to Christ.

Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in this situation, and we trust in Your goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue to show love and respect to your stepmother, even if she doesn't reciprocate. Remember that God can use your actions to soften her heart and draw her to Himself. Also, it is important to know that only by the name of Jesus Christ do we have access to God. And there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We know it's hard to understand why your stepmom behaves this way, but remember, love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). Let's keep praying for her heart to change and for her to find Jesus.
