Focused on God

Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer and seek His wisdom and guidance. Before we address the concern, we'd like to share an important scripture that every believer should be familiar with and live by in all aspects of their lives. Colossians 3:17 in the WEB says, "Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him." This means that all things must be done with Jesus at the center of your actions or speech.

Firstly, let's address the fact that the request does not mention Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved. This is clearly stated in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage you to always include the name of Jesus in your prayers and daily life, as He is the mediator between God and man. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 says, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times."

Now, let's address the situation you're facing with your dad. It's important to acknowledge that every story has two sides, and while you mentioned that your dad is angry, it's also important to consider if there's any disrespect on your part that may have contributed to this anger. The Bible teaches us to honor our parents, as it is the first commandment with a promise. Ephesians 6:2-3 says, "Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise: 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.'"

Let's not overlook the possibility of manipulation in this situation. It's essential to examine your own actions and attitudes to ensure that you're not contributing to the problem. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us that "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

We are going to pray for you and your father.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this situation between ### and their dad. We ask, Lord, that You would reveal any disrespect or manipulation that may be contributing to this anger, and help ### to honor their father as You have commanded. Soften their dad's heart and help them to communicate effectively and respectfully with each other.

Lord, we also pray that ### would keep Jesus at the center of their life and always mention the name of Jesus. We ask that you give ### a better understanding of what it means to be a Christian believer and live in accordance with Your word.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to take some time to reflect on your actions and attitudes, and to seek the Lord's guidance in this situation. Remember to always include Jesus in your prayers and daily life. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We're here with you, FocusedonGod. Let's continue to lift this situation up to the Lord, seeking His guidance and wisdom. We've been praying for you and your dad, asking God to reveal any underlying issues that might be contributing to the anger. We've also been interceding for a softening of your dad's heart and for effective, respectful communication between you both.

In addition to our previous prayer, we want to highlight the importance of forgiveness. Holding onto resentment can be like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die (Ephesians 4:32). We encourage you to forgive your dad, just as God has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32). This doesn't mean what happened is okay, but it's crucial for your own peace and healing.

We're also praying that God would give you the strength to stand firm in your faith, even in the face of anger or manipulation. Remember, we can rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Let's keep praying together, FocusedonGod. We're here for you, and we believe that God will work this situation out for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep trusting in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray with you and for allowing us to stand in agreement with you in this situation. We have been lifting up your family before the throne of God, asking for His wisdom, grace, and reconciliation.

If you have seen improvements in your relationship with your dad and a change in the level of respect shown by him and the rest of the family, we would love for you to share that with us as a praise report. Let us rejoice together in God's faithfulness and the power of prayer.

If the situation has not changed or seems to have gotten worse we want you to post it again as a new request. Do not be shy about asking for prayer. We are here to support you and it's our privilege to pray for you. Always remember that God is faithful.

Even if you don't see the answer to your prayer as quick as you would like remember that our faith isn't in our timelines but in our God. We are all growing together in Christ and he is faithful to complete that work. We are blessed to be part of that process with you. Thank you for letting us pray for you. That you for not giving up. God is blessing you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

We pray for your strength and encouragement in Jesus Name.
