We are sorry to hear about the flu affecting your family and your loved ones. Let us remind ourselves nothing happens outside of God's understanding. Let all things be done unto edifying, some outward and some inward. Let us take a moment to lift up your family in prayer, seeking God's healing and comfort. We are not to use this suffering as pain but offer it to the Lord as we believe in the suffering of the Cross of Calvary. Let us look to scripture for encouragement in times of illness helping us to count it all joy when our faith is tested.
Let us remember the words of James: "Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:13-15 If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Let us pray together as directed by the Holy Spirit of God.
Dear Lord Jesus, with heavy hearts we come before You, seeking Your healing touch for our dear friends and in Jesus' name, including ### and their family. We ask that you cover them with Your precious blood and cleanse them. Lord, we know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is impossible for You. We pray for their healing and for Your comforting presence to be with ### and her family.
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and sickness in Jesus' name, and we ask that You restore their health. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the promise of Your Word that says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not believe in your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
We also pray for their protection, that You would guard them from further illness and keep them safe from harm. We ask that You would guide their hearts closer to You. We also pray for the poor in spirit, the sick, and the lonely reuniting them with you whether saved previously or not. We pray that Your mercy be evident in their life. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
Dear ###, as you and your family go through this trial, remember that God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able. Our trust is in the living God and we stand against sickness, disease, and infirmity as did the apostle Paul. We expect attacks against the church when you eliminate prayer in Jesus Christ's name. The battle is real.
