We join with you in lifting up this urgent situation to our Heavenly Father, the Maker of heaven and earth. We stand in agreement, praying for God's divine intervention and mercy. Floods are mentioned many times in scripture. For example, Psalm 69:15 Do not let the flood waters overwhelm me, nor let the deep swallow me up. Let not the waterfall shut her mouth over me. We trust that God will hear our prayers and act according to His perfect will.
Firstly, we pray for the rains to cease and the floods to subside. God, we ask you to calm the storms and bring peace to the skies just as Jesus Christ rebuked the storms and they obeyed him. In Matthew 8:26-27 He said to them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. The men marveled, saying, What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
Secondly, we lift up the family who lost their precious child. Our hearts cry out for their comfort and peace. We know God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. God, we ask you to wrap your loving arms around them and give them the comfort that only you can provide. Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Lastly, we pray for the safety of everyone affected by the floods. God, we ask you to guide and protect them, keeping them from all harm and danger just as in Psalm 91:1-4 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.
In all things, we pray for God to be glorified. We praise you for your unwavering love. We prayed in Jesus Name and we give thanks for all things in Jesus name. Amen.
