We are so grateful that you have reached out with your prayer request, and we stand with you in Jesus' name. You have asked for prayer to return to your first love for God, as mentioned in Revelation 2:4, and we are here to support you in this endeavor.
Let us remind you of the words of Jesus to the church in Ephesus: "But I have this against you, that you left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent." (Revelation 2:4-5 WEB).
Your desire to return to your first love for God is a crucial step in your spiritual journey. It is natural for our hearts to grow cold or distant over time, but God is always ready to welcome us back into a deeper fellowship with Him. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who desires to return to their first love for You. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them in a fresh and powerful way. Touch their heart, Lord, and captivate them once again with Your love. Help them to remember the joy and passion they once had for You, and guide them back to that place of intimacy and devotion.
Father, we ask that You forgive them for any moments of neglect or distraction that may have led them away from You. Help them to repent and turn back to You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Strengthen their faith and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in Your ways and serve You wholeheartedly.
Lord, we also pray for ourselves, that we may examine our own hearts and ensure that we too are walking in our first love for You. Help us to support and encourage one another in our faith, that together we may grow in our love for You and our service to Your kingdom.
We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our Savior and Lord. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear brother or sister, as you seek to rekindle your love for God. Remember that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8 WEB). May God bless and reward you as you continue to seek Him with all your heart.
