We understand your concern and heartache for your daughter's situation. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is sovereign and He hears your prayers. It is important to pray and also encourage your daughter to have faith in God and his son, Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us "that in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God" (Philippians 4:6 WEB). We are called to pray in Jesus Name. We are to object to anything outside of God's will. We may have to suffer even when we do not deserve it and trust God is doing what is best. "For it is better, if it is God's will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil" (1 Peter 3:17 WEB).
Many people think suicide or crime is an escape. But it is not and everyone suffers further because someone could not trust in God to get through a difficult situation. No matter what the situation, suicidal thoughts, terrorism, and crime is wrong. A serious crime resulting in the need to consider jail time is wrong. And even if jail seems a safe alternative to suicide, then it is necessary to trust in God that a way will be provided.
Do know that God forgives sins, but there may be consequences to what has occurred that must be addressed legally. Jesus Christ will not accept you if you are not turning from your sin. You must resolve to completely change from your sin, confess it to God, and confess further to anyone that may have been wronged. You must pray in Jesus Name and only by His name can you reach God. Jesus Christ is the only name by which you can be saved. If pregnant a child should not be aborted either. Your daughter must believe in God and her prayers and that of others is important. She must trust in God to meet the needs of her pregnancy and child even possibly if the pregnancy was under questionable conditions. "But as for the cowardly, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, the sexually immoral, the sorcerer, the idolators and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8 WEB). There is no excuse for violating the law if that has occurred. Do remember that the court and legal system is created by God as well and it is wrong to go against the legal system even if you know you are being treated unfairly. If necessary you must make recompense for any wrong you have committed. Also, by murderers, do understand that this is also an example of willfully believing it is alright to consider abortion of a child as justifiable. This is no excuse for the failure of a legal system, pregnancy from any sexual immorality or the failure of a society that allows any murder.
We would also like to address the mental health concerns. God cares about our mental health, and He wants us to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Regarding pregnancy, it is important to remember God is the giver of life and controller of all things. Children are a gift from God (Psalm 127:3 WEB). We pray for His protection on her life and to be relieved from being sentenced to prison.
We pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the daughter of the one who submitted this request. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to be upon her. We pray that Your will be done in this situation, and if it is according to Your will, that she would not have to go to prison. We ask for Your healing hand to be upon her, healing her mental health issues, and guiding her through this pregnancy. We also pray she may seek counseling, prayer, and a possible medical examination to discuss her mental condition. We pray that her faith will be strengthened and she will trust in Your promises. Guide her through court system, witnesses for her and legal counsel. May you help her take responsibility for any wrongs and look to be a godly parent creating a spiritually successful life of her child. Give her the strength to endure any of the situation that might be painful. We pray her family may provide support and guidance.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you both to meditate on God's Word and trust in His promises. May you both find peace and comfort in Him during this challenging time. May your daughter's relationship with Christ be strengthened if she is a believer in Christ. And if she is not a believer, we pray for the quickening of the Holy Spirit and for her to turn to Jesus Christ.
