Let us begin by acknowledging God is always willing and able to help us in all circumstances. We are reminded in Romans 8:28, All things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
Firstly, we must address that the request is for 'a partner' and for him being fired for 'wanting to do things correctly'. We need to further understand and clarify these circumstances. If the firing was due to a violation of a conscience issue and this is what is meant by 'wanting to do things correctly', then Romans 13:1-2 comes into play: Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and they that withstand will receive to themselves judgment. As Christians, we are to follow the leadership and guidance of our employers as long as we are not being asked to sin against our God. If that is the case then we must obey God rather than men. Otherwise, we should do our best to be subject to our employer.
Secondly, the term 'partner' is used rather than husband or a fiance. This may imply a relationship outside of God's design for marriage. If this is the case, then we must address this issue first. In 1 Corinthians 7:2 it is written Nevertheless, to avoid sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. It is important to be in God's Word and in prayer and as a believer to be unequally yoked with another believer heading towards marriage. If this is not the case then we would encourage a pursuit of a Godly courtship towards marriage if that is not already taking place. If in this relationship they are not married, they need to be living separately and refraining from all sexual immorality. This is what is meant in scripture by 'to avoid sexual immorality'.
Thirdly, the request is for the partner to find a job and is not praying in Jesus name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:10b-12, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
In order for God to bless them with a job, they both need to be in the will of God and pursuing a righteous life. We would encourage and pray for their seeking in prayer in Jesus name for a job and trusting God for direction and provision. God will supply all of his needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We are given this assurance in Philippians 4:19.
Dear Lord, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your guidance and provision. We pray for this couple, that they may seek You first and Your righteousness, and that You would provide for their Godly relationship and that You would direct them in your will. We ask that You would open up a job for the man that is according to Your will. We pray for their need for provision and wisdom. Help them to trust You and to follow in the path You have for them.
We ask these things in Jesus name.
We encourage and pray for their studying God's Word and for a keen understanding of God's plan for relationships, marriage, work, and provision. We pray that God would give them wisdom and direction. We pray that they would seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you. This is what we are told in Matthew 6:33. We encourage them to be in prayer continually and to trust God in all things.
