We understand that you are seeking a job, a financial breakthrough, good health, and wisdom. Let's first take the request about a job and turn to the scriptures for encouragement and advice for this situation. First and foremost, God provides strength for any job during the work. God himself desires for us to work and provides us with the strength to complete any work required. Actually, the purpose of work and the job that you are applying for is to serve Jesus. It is not just for selfish purposes to meet your own needs. We need to remember in any situation that all things are done for Jesus, who died for our sins: We read in Colossians 3:23-24 WEB Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ.
Colossians 1:29 WEB For this I labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.
Let's talk about financial situations, and begin with a warning. We really need to avoid the love of money, which is the root of all evil. Obviously, everyone needs money to survive. Sometimes, requests come from a feeling of greed without even knowing it. So, let's self evaluate this request. It is just a request to meet basic needs or is it a request for greed? Let's remember, low income, poor, and the rich all have the same temptations. Everyone is responsible for avoiding the love of money because it causes many to abandon the faith. Giving of money is also important. For anyone that God has blessed financially, God commands a return. Do not store up treasures for yourself on earth; give. Matthew 6: 17-21. Anyone who requests something from God also needs to be willing to give back to God too.
While many hope for quick fixes to debt, God expects us to pay back all loans. In fact, Psalm 37:21 WEB The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous give generously. So, this is actually a curse if anyone does not pay off their debts. This is the same with stealing and anything else remotely similar to these situations. Rest assured, it is important to lend to others but have the expectation that it may not be returned. Defaulting on any obligation to pay is wicked according to scripture. In fact, it is better to not lend if there is doubt. Proverbs 22:26-27 WEB Do not be among those who give pledges, among those who become collateral for loans. If you have nothing to pay, why should another take away your bed from under you? It is better to avoid debt altogether, which is certainly a worrying stressful situation. Decent work should be enough to meet all needs.
Praying for health is certainly appropriate. But, there are warnings associated with seeking good health that need to be remembered. Do not partake in divination, including fortune telling, witchcraft, and interpreting omens. In particular, with alternative and often controversial medicine, such as holistic, herbal medicine, and other health-related treatments, and astro-medicine. It is common that the practice of divination is compatible with some alternative medicines and is forbidden in scripture. Christians should avoid alternative medicines that partake in divination, regardless of the knowledge of the activity. Leviticus 19:26 WEB You shall not eat anything with the blood. You shall not use enchantments, nor practice sorcery. Another pitfall is the love of self over the love of others. In western culture especially, the glorification of the body has really become a priority. It is easy to forget, others have health problems and need more help than we may ourselves. We must never forget about the sick, blind, disabled, and deaf in the world. Matthew 19:21 WEB Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
We read in James 1:5 WEB But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.
Finally, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God for anything. No other name can be used to approach God. This is because Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, lives, and reigns today sitting next to God almighty father. It is only by Jesus that anyone can overcome any situation in life. Only by Jesus can anyone be saved. Praying to angels, spirits, other gods, Mary, or anything else at all is strictly forbidden and utterly useless. Jesus said He is the way. Also, we explicitly reject universalism. Instead, Jesus is the only way. Because Jesus lives forever, as Christians, we live forever. Jesus is easily distinguished as Lord, teacher, savior, master, creator, miracle worker, deliverer and healer. Jesus said in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
