We are truly sorry to hear about the circumstances you and your family are facing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is always faithful, and He is the provider. Even in difficult times, He promises to never leave nor forsake us. As it says in Hebrews 13:5 WEB:
"Be content with your current lot, for He has said, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.'"
Regarding your unemployment, we want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's timing and provision. In Psalm 37:23 WEB, it is written:
"The Lord directs his steps, and delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
Remember how hard Joseph worked for the Egyptians. His work was an example to others, and he did it as if he was serving God Himself. As a result, he was made second in command over all of Egypt, Genesis 41 WEB. This is a prime example of the Biblical Promise of 2 Corinthians 9:6 WEB:
"Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."
As a single parent, you carry a heavy burden, but remember that God cares deeply for you and your children. He knows your needs and He promises to provide for them. In Matthew 6:25-34 WEB, Jesus teaches us not to be anxious about what we will eat or drink or wear. He uses the birds of the air and the flowers of the field as examples of God's provision. He concludes by saying:
"Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient."
We will pray for you to find employment according to God's will and we ask God to fulfill His promises and meet your family's needs. We pray also that you will find peace and comfort in His presence, knowing that He is always with you. We encourage you to seek His will in all things, and to trust in His perfect plan for your life.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up this dear parent who is facing a difficult time. We pray for Your provision and guidance in their life. We ask that You would open up a job opportunity that is according to Your will, and that You would meet their needs in the meantime. We pray for their peace and comfort, knowing that You are always with them. We ask that You would guide them in Your will and help them to trust in Your perfect plan. We ask all of this in Jesus name.
