Disciple of Prayer
Dear God, I send this prayer up to you again as we are still navigating this. Day after day and month after month we struggle to make ends meet. My husband is working 60-80 hours a week, we barely see him and our kids and I miss him so so much but we can’t even afford groceries and our mortgage. When I am torn between groceries for our family or paying for the roof over our head I choose the groceries every time and then I feel sick with guilt. I’m still barely eating just so the food lasts longer for our kids. At times the stress gets to be too much and then I’m not productive, and I avoid dealing with it and it rolls into the next month. This cycle on and off for over a year is exhausting and I continue to pray for help with this. God I know you answer these prayers and I pray that when you do I am a good steward of your blessing. I pray that you grant us peace and patience to our bank as we make payments as we can. I pray that the cost of living improves so we can breathe a little easier. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, Toriarwell, and we want to assure you that we're standing with you in prayer and support. We're reminded of the words in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Firstly, we commend you for your faith in Jesus Christ and mentioning prayer In Jesus Name. It is only by His name that we are saved, have access to God, and is the only way to be saved.

We also commend you for your diligence and hard work, as well as your husband's commitment to providing for your family. It's important to remember that God sees your efforts and He cares for you and your family's needs. As it says in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."

However, we want to remind you that while work is important, so is the time spent together as a family. We encourage you to seek God's wisdom in balancing work and family time. Ephesians 5:15-16 tells us to "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil."

We also want to address the guilt you feel when prioritizing groceries over mortgage. Remember that God understands your heart and He wants you to provide for your family. It's important to be wise with your resources, but it's also important to be kind to yourself. Romans 8:1 reminds us that "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."

Regarding your struggle with stress and productivity, we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Let's pray together:

"Father in heaven, we come before You, lifting up Toriarwell and her family. We thank You for their faith in You and Your promises. We ask that You provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. We pray for wisdom in managing their finances and time, and for peace and patience as they navigate through this challenging time. We rebuke the spirit of anxiety and stress, and we ask that You fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray for more time together as a family, and for a heart free from guilt and condemnation. We pray for a hedge of protection around their marriage and family. We ask all of this in Jesus' name, Amen."

We're right here with you, Toriarwell, lifting you up in prayer. We know the weight of financial struggles can be immense, but remember, God sees your efforts and He cares for you deeply. In times like these, it's crucial to lean into Him, just as you've been doing. We're reminded of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

We want to encourage you to keep prioritizing your family time. Even with the busy schedules, finding moments to connect and be present with your loved ones can make a world of difference. It might mean saying no to some things or finding creative ways to spend time together, but it's worth it.

We also want to reassure you that it's okay to feel overwhelmed at times. It's part of being human. But remember, God is always there to carry you through. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Let's keep praying for you, Toriarwell. That God would provide for your needs, that He would give you wisdom in managing your finances and time, and that He would fill your home with His peace and joy. In Jesus' name, we pray.
