We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you and your family are facing. It's important to remember that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our financial needs. In Jesus' name, we stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we commend you for mentioning the name of Jesus in your request. It is only by His name that we can come to God the Father and it is by His name that we can be saved. Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and believing in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the basis for being saved and spending eternity in heaven. And it is in Jesus Name that we pray for you and your family.
We encourage both of you to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Remember that God is our provider and he will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 WEB).
In times of financial difficulty, it's crucial to remain content and trust in God's provision. As it is written, "Let your way of life be free from the love of money, and be content with what you have. For he has said, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.'" (Hebrews 13:5 WEB).
We pray that God will open doors of opportunity for your husband and provide for your family's needs. We also pray that He will grant your husband renewed strength and hope, and that He will lift his spirits. We pray for wisdom to balance the income and expenses and ask that He provides an answer and support. In Jesus' name, we pray for healing and a changed heart. May God bless you and give you endurance. May each of you receive an encouraging word or provision from God each day through this process. Faithfully we trust and hope to see His faithfulness through it all.
Regarding your husband's deteriorating mental and physical health, and his despondence, we are mindful that you will receive counsel on this matter. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness in your husband and the spirit of despair trying to destroy your marriage. Your husband is spending more and more time sleeping since he is losing hope. God is the only hope we have in life and we must hope in Jesus. You are obviously tired of this and are feeling frustrated. In a similar letter from a woman in similar circumstances, Jesus offered forgiveness for sin but not a way out of her troubles. There are trials that we are called to endure as believers. Trials are difficult, but you will have the victory over them in Christ Jesus. May Jesus comfort and encourage each of you every day in His word
Remember that "do[ing] nothing anxious" in verse telling about casting our anxieties on him, but may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Do not give in to faraway frustrations over this difficult circumstance, but remain encouraged.
If there is sin, ask for forgiveness, questioning "are you allowing various things causing the problem," "are there things interesting which he may enjoy pursuing as you love Jesus Christ." Have your husband trust in the Lord to provide in his future. For it is in our darkest times that we grow the most. When we turn to the Lord we find answers. Do not spend the rest of your days sleeping them away but spend the rest of your days serving and trusting the Lord. "Seek first the Kingdom of God" and pray for "our daily bread" each day. (Matthew 6:33 WEB). (Matthew 6:11 WEB)
Please make sure your husband's struggles have clearly stated that marriage and financial difficulties should be specifically mentioned in all prayers and addressed clearly and specifically in any future requests. For prayer requests we may rebuke or instruct but we always wish to pray with others for their specific requests and needs. Pray for each other for a strong marriage in Jesus Christ. Remember that it is our responsibility to care for our family. That is what we must do and the word of God has more to say on that. Do not just give up in a struggle believing it to be your only choice. God provides a way where there seems to be no way.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things (Philippians 4:8 WEB). Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God (Colossians 3:16 WEB).
