We are truly sorry to hear about the financial struggles you and your husband are facing, and we appreciate that you have reached out to us for prayer and support. We are reminded in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB
Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
We encourage you to seek God's kingdom first, and trust that He will provide for your needs. It is also important to remember that God has promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Though, we understand when the cash is low, trouble pours in. Again, we need to trust him. Psalm 50:15 WEB reminds us to trust him for the supply. Call me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.
As believers, we are also called to be wise stewards of our resources. We encourage you to look for ways to manage your finances better. Consider this period at home for Jack as an opportunity to seek God's will for his life and career. Perhaps there are opportunities for him to retrain or learn new skills that would make him more employable. Remember too Jack needs to work as unto the Lord. No matter the job opportunity he gets, it is an opportunity to minister to others and be a Top 40 witness, which is not to be taken lightly. We must provide for our families. 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. In time God will reward him but it must be the goal that every Christian man has for their life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you lifting up our sister and her husband Jack, who are going through a challenging time financially. We ask Lord for jobs and finances to flow. Father anything preventing this we rebuke in Jesus' Name. God, do not let his family forget to pray but to be instant in season and out they need to be praying even more in these times of trouble. Lord, we ask that you provide for their needs according to your riches in glory.
Grant them wisdom to manage their finances well, and open up job opportunities for Jack in Jesus' Name. Give them strength and faith to believe. Help him to be a godly husband and father, seeking to provide for his family as unto the Lord. As he Imputes the word of God to his life let others see. In Jesus' mighty name, we ask to judge the fruits in their life.
We remind them through this hardship to be faithful in the giving of tithes. Show them the word: Before the blessing there was a test... Tithing is a test God gave to us so that our blessing would be poured out and there would be more than enough in every area of our lives. The tithe is the defining moment where our faith is tested in the word of God, in the promises of God, and in the character of the one who promised God (Malachi 3:10 WEB). Bring you all your tithes, and put them into the treasure warehouse. Put me to the test now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room when you receive it.
Finally, we thank you, Father, for your steadfast love and faithfulness. We are not under the curse. Always knowing He has a ram in the bush. Thank you for not forsaking us neither never leave us without hope. As we wait on you our delight you meet the need you hear the cry of the poor, we place our trust in Christ Jesus. In Him, we are more than conquerors, and we know that our current situation will work out for our good and his glory. We thank you that it is already worked out in Heaven.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
