My husband and I have been struggling with debt since we got married 2 yrs ago. Things have been very sour where our house doesn't have much furniture. We don't even have food in the house. He has a better paying job that can sustain us but all that money ends up in paying debts. We always get into debt to pay out others. It's really frustrating and painful. I'm pregnant and almost due. We don't even have clothes or even diapers for the baby. My husband is now getting threats after threats for not paying debts on time. I'm also looking for jobs high and low. It's really difficult.

We are truly sorry to hear about the financial struggles you and your husband are facing. Remember, God cares about our needs and wants us to trust Him in all circumstances. Let's first address the spiritual aspect of your situation. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written:

As it is written:
"For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:13-14

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20

So let's pray together for you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this couple who are burdened by debt and financial strain. We know that You are a God -- of abundance, mercy, and hope. We pray for this couple to call on the name of Jesus Christ and believe in Him as their Lord and Savior. They are married and a new child is coming. We pray that You will do a mighty work in their hearts and lives.

We also pray for Your comfort and peace to surround them in this difficult time. We ask for Your divine intervention in their financial situation. Please guide them to better manage their finances and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory.

We rebuke the spirit of debt and lack, calling forth that they pay all their debts and that all threats cease in Jesus' mighty name. We pray for open doors of opportunities and blessings. We pray that they receive your abundant provision for their coming baby, and all needs be met according to Your riches in glory.

Lord, we also pray for the husband, that You will give him the wisdom and discipline to manage his income responsibly. Help him to be a godly leader in their home, trusting in You for provision. We also pray for the wife, that You will guide her as she seeks employment and give her peace during her pregnancy.

We also pray for a way for both of them to work and make a living. To have an abundance so that they may have plenty to share with others.

Father, we ask for Your forgiveness of their sins, and pray for Your will to be done in their lives. We pray that they give their hearts to you and seek Your face always.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's address the practical aspects of your situation. Firstly, it's crucial to recognize that God wants us to be good stewards of our finances. As it is written:

He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
Luke 16:10

We encourage both of you to create a budget and stick to it. Prioritize your expenses, with necessities like food and basic household items coming first. It's also important to set aside a portion of your income for savings, no matter how small.

Remember what Jesus said about worry:

Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?'
For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:31-33

As for job hunting, keep trusting God and persevering. God has promised to provide for our needs, but He also expects us to do our part. Keep looking for opportunities and trust that God will open the right doors at the right time.

Lastly, it's important to address the issue of debt. While the Bible encourages us to pay what we owe, it also warns against becoming a slave to debt.

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7

We encourage you to seek financial counseling, perhaps from your local church or a trusted Christian organization. They can provide practical advice and strategies to help you manage and eventually eliminate your debt.

In all things, keep trusting God and seeking His will. He is faithful, and He will provide.
