We understand the burden you're carrying and we're here to support and pray with you. Firstly, we want to acknowledge your brave step in deciding to stay away from gambling. As the Bible tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
However, we want to lovingly rebuke the sin of gambling which has led to this situation. The Bible warns us that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB). But the good news is that God is willing to forgive and restore if we turn to Him.
We also noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ. It's important to remember that it is only through His name that we have access to God's power and grace. As the Bible says, "In none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened with debt and depression. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the sin of gambling and the desire for easy wealth. We thank You that You are a God of restoration and that with You, all things are possible.
Please provide a way for the debts to be paid and for financial restoration. Guide our sibling to manage their money wisely, to save diligently, and to trust in Your provision. Grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, and let Your love and grace shine upon them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to stay strong in your faith, trusting that God will make a way. Remember, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).
Keep your focus on Jesus, and He will see you through this challenging time.
