We understand that you are facing a difficult situation, Steimma, and we want to lift you and your concerns to the Lord in prayer. We appreciate that you acknowledge Jesus and His role.
Firstly, we want to address the financial struggle. According to Matthew 6:25-34 WEB:
Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
God knows the burdens we carry and He cares for us. However, do remember what He says in Matthew 6:33
But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
As for the strained relationship in your family, it is important how you address the relationship. Remember what our friend, the Apostle Paul, wrote in Ephesians 6:4 WEB:
You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
. It is easy for one to feel slighted by another and allow bitterness to enter our hearts. Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB say:
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
This is based on the relationship with one another in a Christian context. If one of the children is in a religion or a homosexual relationship, then the parents must be loving to them but stand on the word of God and not condone or support such a path. Rebuke the lifestyle while honoring the children and loving them.
As a note to parents who may have children in that situation. Do not guilt yourself into supporting an abominable lifestyle. Do not let them guilt you into doing so either. It is not easy, but stand on the firm foundation of the Word of God. It may mean those relationships are removed or damaged until someone bends. There is parental love, kind and tenderhearted, but also discipline and instruction.
To pray for the entire world is not something many would consider as reasonable, but as we are instructed in I Timothy 2:1-6 WEB:
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
Also remember Proverbs 28:13 WEB:
He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Remember what Romans 3:23 WEB reminds us of:
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
When we realize we cannot pay the price of our salvation, we need a savior and it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved. He made a new way of being saved outside the Law given to Moses. Things that were are now fulfilled. Justification through faith in His blood. The old covenant has been fulfilled and the New Covenant established by Jesus Christ.
We pray:
Dear heavenly Father,
We lift Steimma to You, asking for Your divine intervention in her financial struggles. Help her to trust in You and Your provision, and guide her to seek Your Kingdom first. We pray for her sons, that the wedge dividing them would be removed, and that their relationships would be restored and built on Your love and all believing in and following Your son, Jesus our Savior.
Lord, we also pray for the world, that hate would be replaced with love. Help us all to see each other as You see us, and to love one another as You love us. All this in the highest precious and name where we have redemption and salvation and everything else in our Savior Jesus the Christ.
Amen.
