We understand that you're facing a difficult situation with missing items and financial loss. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including such incidents. It is good to approach and pray directly to God in the name of Jesus Christ to address this issue. However, in this difficult situation, we should also look within our own heart.
Jesus, quoting the Old Testament, stated in Luke 6:31 WEB "As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them." This verse reminds us to treat others with the same kindness and respect we would like to receive. However, this does not excuse theft, manipulation, or any other sin.
Jesus also said in Matthew 7:12 WEB "Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets." So we must first examine our own heart and actions to be sure we are following God's will and treating others appropriately.
In these circumstances, we should pray for the persons who took the money and items, as well as the situation itself. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." Blessing those who curse us is a difficult task, but it is a testament to the transformative power of God's love.
So let us pray:
Almighty God, in Jesus Christ we pray for the situation our friend is facing. Lord God, convict the hearts of those who have taken what is not theirs. Bring them to repentance, so they return the money and sharpener. We know God's Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death." We also ask for the return of the stolen items. God, if it is your will not to return the items, we pray you richly bless with replacements and new provisions.
However, God in all this we ask that you would help us examine our own heart and actions. If we are doing anything that is the same or similar to this, convict us and help us to change our actions.
We ask in closing that you would bless our friend with a home and household that is of your choosing. That all in the home would be believers in Jesus Christ. Finally, if it is your will to remove them then please do so in Jesus' name.
Matthew 18:20 tells us "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." We know that if we gather in the name of Jesus, He is with us. In this time of need, we gather together in the name of Jesus.
Now let us close in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Amen.
