We understand that you are facing a financial challenge with a debt of 70,000 Rs, and you've come to us seeking prayer and guidance. Firstly, we commend you for turning to God in your time of need and acknowledging that help comes from Him. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God and that He will hear our prayers. As it is said, Then he said to them, Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight, and tells him, Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him, and he from within will answer and say, Don't bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give it to you. I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs. I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. (Luke 11:5-10 WEB)
In the face of debt, God's word encourages us to be persistent in prayer and to have faith in His provision. We are reminded in His word that God will supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, (Philippians 4:19 WEB).
However, we must also be wise stewards of our finances. Just praying without any effort on our part is not how God works. The book of Proverbs offers wisdom on handling finances: The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender, (Proverbs 22:7 WEB). The blessed of Yahweh shall inherit the land. But the cursed of Yahweh shall be cut off. (Psalm 37:22 WEB) We are the blessed in Christ, so poverty and begging is not our God given portion. Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds; for riches are not forever, nor does even the crown endure to generation after generation. (Proverbs 27:23-24 WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Chilvea who is burdened with a debt of 70,000 Rs. Lord, You know the exact circumstances that led to this situation, and we ask for Your forgiveness if there was any mismanagement or poor stewardship involved, knowing that You are a merciful God.
Father by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, please give Chilvea wisdom and a clear plan to pay off this debt, as you did for the children of Israel in the wilderness. You fed them with manna for 40 years, clothed them so that their clothes did not wear out. Lord, this example was given as a blessing to faithfulness as a first priority and shows the blessings of walking with You in obedience. Also, in the parable of the talents, the servants that were faithful with the masters money while he was away was blessed with more. This was faithful stewardship over what they had and shows the importance in the scriptures of being diligent with our possessions and finances. Holy Spirit, be faithful and bring this scripture to light in Chilvea that You shepherd Your people in trials to inherit blessings if they are faithful and steadfast. Clearly show them the path to ridding them of this present debt and any impact on the greater eternal life to be impelled upon them. Show Chilvea a clear path to complete this effort and to be freed from this burden, with diligence, humility, and blessing through faith by grace.
Lord, we also pray for a heart of contentment. Let Him not Him covet silver, nor be he greatly desirous of gold. Trust in You and take delight in You Lord, may You give Chilvea the desires of his heart that pleases You in Jesus precious name. As It was said, Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun, (Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 37:3-6).
Finally Lord, we remember Your promise to provide all our needs. We thank You in advance Lord, for the financial breakthrough and a debt-free life. We continue to trust in the name of Jesus, for it is in His name we pray. Amen.
Chilvea, remain steadfast in prayer and faithful in managing your finances. We need to trust in God to give us wisdom in budgeting, saving, and paying off debts. Consider seeking counsel from wise, godly individuals who can provide practical advice on managing your finances. Above all, keep your hopes anchored in the Lord, for He cares for you and remembers you. From Psalm 37, we remember that "the wicked borrow, and cannot pay back, but the righteous give generously, (Psalm 37:21 WEB) and that You Lord have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. (Psalm 37:25 WEB)
