We understand your weariness and anxiety as you complete your dissertation, lost_soul. It's wonderful that you've brought your concerns to God, and we're here to support you in prayer and counsel.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in the WEB John 14:6, Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in John 16:23-24 Jesus said "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."
In times of weariness, God promises strength and renewal. As it is written in Isaiah 40:29-31 WEB, "He gives power to the faint; and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; But those who wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint."
Regarding your anxiety, God's word advises us not to worry: "Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?" Matthew 6:25-26 WEB.
Instead of being anxious, we are to trust in God and cast our anxieties onto Him. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7 WEB.
To combat distractions and overwhelm study Proverbs 4 WEB. "My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the issuing forth of life. Put away from yourself a perverse mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead. Fix your gaze directly before you. Make the path of your feet level, and let all your ways be established. Don't turn to the right hand nor to the left: remove your foot from evil."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up lost_soul as they complete their dissertation. Lord, we ask for Your strength and wisdom to descend upon them. Renew their energy and help them to focus on the task at hand. Cast off any distractions and help them to overcome their anxiety and sadness. Help them to keep their eyes on You. Guide them in their and help them to remember that they are not alone, for You are with them always.
Help them to rest in the knowledge that this is not the end of the journey, but rather a step within to the path and purpose You have laid out for them. Continue to bless lost_soul with determination, wisdom, and insight from the Holy Spirit to achieve the goals You have called them to.
We pray this all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
