We understand that you're feeling guilty for ending relationships with angry, controlling, and manipulative people, Crachithor. We commend you for forgiving those who have harmed you, as the Bible teaches us to forgive as we have been forgiven. However, it is wise and biblical to separate from those who cause harm, as you have done. The Scriptures tell us, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness, in 2 Corinthians 6:14.
Your feelings of guilt may stem from fears of being alone and a history of people-pleasing, but remember, it is not God's will for us to live in fear or to be controlled by others. As it says, For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" Romans 8:15.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Crachithor. We ask that You heal their feelings of guilt and remind them that they have acted wisely in separating from harmful people. Help them to overcome their fears of being alone and break the chains of people-pleasing that have been holding them back. Fill them with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear. Guide them to healthy, godly relationships that honor You.
Please, Father, show them and remind them of Your love, of Your approval, and of Your gift of Jesus Christ. If they have not already done so, draw them to believe in Jesus Christ. Let them not seek Your blessing and access to You through any other way or name as You have provided only one way. Let them come to Jesus, believing in their heart that You raised Him from the dead and confessing with their mouth that Jesus is Lord.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, Crachithor. God loves you deeply and wants you to live in freedom and truth. Keep trusting in Him, and He will guide you through this healing process. If it is needed, find a godly counselor.
Continue to seek the Lord and find solace in scripture. In Psalm 34:4-5, it is written, I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame.
