We are truly sorry to hear about your circumstances, and we are here to lift you up in prayer and offer biblical encouragement. Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. This is written in John 14:6 โJesus said to him, โI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'โ
You are suffering from multiple losses. Our condolences on the loss of your father and recent break up. Losing a parent and loved one is never easy, and you also have suffered the loss of a suitor whom you saw as a potential spouse and feel the intense shame of rejection. Moreover, the loneliness and isolation you're experiencing can make everything feel even worse, and sometimes even make it hard to have the energy to face the day and seek God's help.
Also, know that true love is meant for marriage between a man and a woman in holy matrimony. Any relationship outside marriage between a man and a woman is called fornication in the biblical sense. All intimacy in a relationship should be through holy matrimony. Therefore, you need to seek to be courted by another believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and prepare to be married. Be encouraged by Hebrews 13:4, which reads, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."
The life of a believer is never promised to be smooth sailing, but remember that God never forgets His children and is always willing and able to save and heal. God did not intend for us to go through life alone and yearn for companionship. He created a family for each of us. This does not mean you will be married. Psalm 68:6 says, โGod sets the lonely in families.โ This could be any family situation. A family could also mean a Christian family that is not even married. Your family will be what the Lord wants.
We will stand by you as you face this challenge in life. Therefore, let us pray in Jesus' name.
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up Your child before Your throne of grace. You know the pain and sorrow they are going through, Lord, and You remember every tear theyโve cried. We pray, Lord Jesus, that You would heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds.
Father, in their loneliness, be their comfort, but also prepare them to be married as well. Make them strong and whole for You. Show them how to find all sufficiency in You. Make them ready and equal to any task or challenge. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-29 โCome to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.โ Show Your child Your rest.
For Jesus Christ is the true healer. Your suffering is like His suffering. Isaiah 53:3 reads, โHe is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.โ 1 Peter 2:24 says, โWho his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.โ In Jesus Christ, we will experience the joy of His resurrection. Remember Your child and heal their heart, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
