Feeling very defeated today. Our special needs child is just so difficult & I feel like it never gets better. Meltdowns, hitting himself, biting & scratching me. Some days I don’t think I can take much more.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today on behalf of Moatwallader, who is feeling defeated and overwhelmed by the challenges of caring for their special needs child. Lord, we lift up this family to you and ask for your strength and guidance during this difficult time.

You are the God who sees and understands every struggle and burden that we carry. Your Word reminds us in Psalm 34:17-18 that you are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We ask that you would draw near to Moatwallader and provide comfort and peace in the midst of their weariness.

Father, we pray for their special needs child. We ask for your healing touch upon their mind and emotions. Bring calmness and peace to their heart, and help them to find healthier ways to express their frustrations. Lord, we know that you are able to bring transformation and breakthrough in even the most challenging situations.

We also pray for Moatwallader, who is feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Strengthen them, Lord, and renew their hope. Remind them of your promise in Isaiah 40:31, that those who wait upon you will renew their strength. Help them to lean on you and find rest in your presence.

Father, we ask for wisdom and guidance for Moatwallader as they navigate the difficulties of raising a special needs child. Provide them with the resources and support they need, whether it be through medical professionals, therapists, or a community of understanding individuals who can offer encouragement and assistance.

Lastly, Lord, we pray for a breakthrough in this situation. We know that you are able to bring about miracles and turn even the most challenging circumstances into testimonies of your faithfulness. May Moatwallader experience your supernatural intervention and see positive changes in their child's behavior and well-being.

In Jesus' name, we pray, believing that you are the God who hears our prayers and answers according to your perfect will. Amen.

May God's peace and strength be with you, Moatwallader. Remember that you are not alone in this journey, and there are people who care and are praying for you.

A Prayer for Faith and Hope in a Hard Year​

Dear God,
Thank you for helping us to make it through this difficult year. Thank you that you’ve carried us through the uncertainty of deep waters, through the flames of trials, and through the pain of hard losses. We are constantly aware of how much we need you, your grace, your strength, your power working through even the toughest days. Help us to keep our focus first on you this season. Please forgive us for giving too much time and attention to other things, for looking to other people before coming to you first. Help us to reflect again, on you. Thank you that you came to give new life, peace, hope, and joy. Thank you that your power is made perfect in our weakness. Help us to remember that the gift of Christ, Immanuel, is our greatest treasure. Fill us with your joy and the peace of your Spirit. Direct our hearts and minds towards you. Thank you for your reminder that both in seasons of celebration and in seasons of brokenness, you’re still with us. For you never leave us. Thank you for your daily powerful Presence in our lives, that we can be assured your heart is towards us, your eyes are over us, and your ears are open to our prayers. Thank you that you surround us with favor as with a shield, and we are safe in your care. We choose to press in close to you today and keep you first in our hearts and lives. Without you we would surely fail, but with you, there is great hope. Thank you for your healing power, thank you for bringing us into this new season up ahead. Note for you.......You and I, as parents, can only do so much for our children. But God can work in their hearts and minds to shape them into the people He wants them to be. And God gives you and me the privilege, as parents, to be a part of that process when we surrender our will to Him and allow Him to mold and shape our character in a way that is best for not only us, but our children, too. This is my prayer to be a better parent...I can't imagine how you feel or what you are going thru but we will pray for you....God bless you.....

A Prayer to be a Better Parent
Seek God First

Lord, help me to seek You and Your purposes above any other pursuit in life. I can easily be distracted by the temporary but keep me focused on the eternal. Help me to not just talk of a relationship with You but truly live it in my daily priorities and actions. Although there are things I want for my family, that I can tend to stress about, You are aware of them all, and Your Word promises that when I put You first, You will take care of everything else, according to what You know is best for us. Help me to truly believe that and live by it so my children will place their confidence in You, as well. In Jesus' name Amen

Guard My Mouth

Lord, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of [my] mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29, NIV). Lord, I don’t want my children to detect a critical spirit in me, or jealousy, or even a lack of faith or discontent. So, guard my mouth so I don’t talk critically of anyone. And when it comes to how I address – and correct – my children, help me to build them up rather than tear them down. When they make mistakes or fail miserably, help me to discern when they need love, grace, and forgiveness instead of a lecture on what they should’ve done differently. In Jesus' name Amen

Be Grateful

Lord, help me to be thankful in all circumstances, not just the ones that are comfortable and enjoyable. Help me to especially be thankful in the difficult situations so my children see me as a person full of praise, not self-pity. Whenever I praise You, it changes my perspective and focuses me on the good things You are doing in the midst of the troubles. Help my kids to see that. Make me a thankful person, a person of praise in every circumstance, a parent who can “in all things, sing.” In Jesus' name Amen

A Gentle, Humble Spirit

Lord, help me to understand that in Your eyes those who are first will be last. And those who allow themselves to be last will be first (Mark 10:31). Help me to humble myself in Your sight so that You can lift me up at the proper time (1 Peter 5:6). And help me to cast all my cares on You instead of feeling I have to work out everything on my own. Help my children to remember me as one who served and put others first, not as one who always had to be at the front of the line. In Jesus' name Amen

Find My Identity in Christ

Lord, show me my value and worth in You, not in what I accomplish or what my children accomplish. Don’t let me put undue pressure on my children to perform because of my own lack of skills, or opportunities. Help me to support who they are as individuals and be confident that I answer to You alone in how I parent them, and You are waiting to partner with me to help me be the best parent I can be. In Jesus' name Amen
