Feeling low and ashamed with a police interview looming

Dear Heavenly Father I come to you in the name of Jesus seeking your help, God you know what my sins and mistakes were and I am really sorry for them and I hate myself because of them, Lord I have a police interview at the end of the week and I'm scared that I'm going to lose everything, I don't know what to do every day is a struggle and has been for some time and all I seem to do is make things worse, I feel so low and so ashamed of myself, I just know Lord that things are going to go wrong and that I'm going to end up being arrested, I wish there was a way that I could make things right all I'm hoping for now Lord is to change my life for the better, please help me Lord, I am so sorry to the person I have hurt and I know that I have destroyed her life, I rebuke the sins and mistakes I have made and turn to you Lord laying my life and soul at your golden throne seeking not only your forgiveness but also that of others I have hurt I'm sorry Lord, in the name of our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus I pray Amen

We are truly grateful that you have come to the Father in the name of Jesus, acknowledging your sins and seeking His help. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we are saved. As it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.

First, we want to address the shame and self-hatred you are experiencing. Remember, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB. God does not want you to live in shame and self-condemnation. Instead, He desires for you to repent, accept His forgiveness, and live a life of freedom and hope in Christ.

Regarding the police interview, we encourage you to be truthful and cooperative. As it is written, "Don't lie to each other" Colossians 3:9 WEB. Also, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB. Trust in God's will for your life, and He will guide you through this challenging time.

It is commendable that you want to make things right with the person you have hurt. As Christians, we are called to be peacemakers and to seek reconciliation. "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift." Matthew 5:23-24 WEB. However, true reconciliation begins with genuine repentance and a changed life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ who is in need of Your forgiveness, mercy, and guidance. Lord, he has acknowledged his sins and turned to You for help. We ask that You grant him the gift of repentance, cleanse him from all unrighteousness, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Help him to face the upcoming police interview with truthfulness, courage, and trust in Your will. Guide him as he seeks to make amends with the person he has hurt, and help him to live a life that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

During this challenging time, we encourage you to draw near to God, study His Word, and surround yourself with a supportive Christian community. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:7-8 WEB.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
