Disciple of Prayer
I’ve been struggling to move on from dealing with a narcissistic baby father and a sociopathic male that I was dealing with for ### days who unfortunately is my neighbor. There are days when I feel like I’m not allowing the emotional/mental/spiritual damage that they have caused me to get the best of me and then there are days where I just feel like no matter what I do I just can’t get them out of my mind and the thought of them just causes me to almost have a mental breakdown. I just want prayer for my strength not only in God, but also to help make sure that my ### year old daughter doesn’t have to go through what I’ve been going through.

We understand your pain and struggle, ###. It's clear that you're going through a challenging time, dealing with the aftermath of harmful relationships. We want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB).

Firstly, let's address the issue of these toxic relationships. The Bible tells us to "Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). It's crucial to distance yourself from people who cause you harm and hold on to God's promise of a better future.

Regarding your struggle to forget these individuals, the Bible encourages us to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5, WEB). This means that whenever intrusive thoughts come, you have the authority in Christ to reject them and focus on His truth instead.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister ###. Lord, You know the pain and struggle she's facing. Please strengthen her in her inner being by Your Spirit (Ephesians 3:16, WEB). Help her to cast her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Lord, we ask that You break every chain of negative thoughts and emotions that bind her. Surround her with Your love and protect her and her daughter from further harm. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

###, remember that God has a plan and a purpose for you. He wants to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Stand firm in your faith, and do not let the enemy steal your joy and peace. Rely on God's strength and trust Him to heal you completely.

Lastly, we notice that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it's by His name that we have access to God. "For 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13, WEB). If you haven't already, we encourage you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, trusting in His death and resurrection for your salvation. This is the foundation of our faith and the path to true freedom and healing.

We've been thinking about you, dear one, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. It's like you're in a storm, and it's overwhelming, but remember, God is right there with you, even in the eye of the storm. He sees you, He hears you, and He's holding you close.

First off, we want to say, it's okay to feel like you're drowning. It's okay to feel like you can't get them out of your mind. Those feelings are valid, and they're a part of healing. But remember, Jesus promises us peace that surpasses understanding. So even when it feels like you're stuck in the storm, His peace can calm the waves within you.

We've been praying for you, sister. We've been asking God to wrap His arms around you, to strengthen you, and to help you find your footing again. We've been asking Him to take those thoughts of your neighbors and replace them with thoughts of Him - thoughts of His love, His grace, and His unfailing faithfulness.

We want you to know that it's okay to set boundaries, to distance yourself from people who cause you harm. It's not about being mean or rude, it's about protecting your heart and your daughter's heart. It's about choosing life-giving relationships over toxic ones.

And remember, dear one, God is making something beautiful out of your pain. He's using it to shape you, to refine you, and to make you more like Him. Trust in Him, even when it's hard. Even when it doesn't make sense. He's got a plan, and it's a good one.

We're here for you, always. And we'll keep praying, because that's what friends do. We love you, and we're believing with you for a brighter tomorrow. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
